Diet is just one component of any well-designed detoxification. In addition with an eating plan, there are other important steps. Incorporating these simple steps to your daily routine will pay off for your whole life. Start today!
1. You Need To Drink More Water
Drink water! Water is essential to your body. Not only does it help regulate body temperature, but also it assists in nutrient absorption, cushions organs and joints, helps remove waste from your body and moistens oxygen for better breathing. Water carries such important responsibilities; you may wonder how much of it the human body needs daily.
You lose water through urination, respiration, and by sweating, and you lose more water when you’re active than when you’re sedentary. Diuretics, such as caffeine pills, certain medications and alcohol may increase the amount of water your body loses. Lost fluids must be replaced by the fluids in the foods you eat and the beverages you drink.
How much water do you need to drink?
At least twenty percent of the water you need comes from the foods you eat. The rest comes from the beverages you drink. Some experts believe you can estimate the amount of water you need by taking your weight in pounds and dividing that number in half. That gives you the number of ounces you may want to drink each day. Other factors include amount of physical activity and the climate where you are located. You need 2 liters of water just to breathe! Water is the number one nutrient. It is absolutely necessary to complete a detoxification successfully. Don’t skimp on water.
2. BOOST YOUR METABOLISM BY GETTING MORE SLEEP
Want to increase your metabolism and burn more calories? Go to bed and sleep. People have significantly slower metabolisms the morning after a sleepless night. 20% less! Further, if you don’t sleep, you will be more hungry. Poor sleep = bigger appetite. You are also likely to have high blood sugar levels and hunger stimulating hormones. Studies show that sleeping 6-8 hours boosts your metabolism!
3. EXERCISE! Enhance Circulation
A lack of physical activity can result in poor circulation of blood and lymph fluid, which can have a negative effect on health and impair detoxification and immune function. The best way to get blood flowing is to exercise. Make a commitment to exercise daily. a 20-30 minutes is all you need. Move continuously for 20-30 minutes to circulated your lymph fluids and heart health. You can also enhance circulation by dry skin brushing. Incorporate it to your daily showers!
What is a Dry Brush Exfoliation?
A dry brush exfoliation involves the use of a soft, dry brush to gently brush the skin. It is essential to remove dead skin cells, improve the circulation of blood and lymph, and enhance detoxification through skin. The gentle pressure is also thought to have a calming effect.
How is Dry Brush Exfoliation Done?
The only tool needed is a soft, dry, skin brush, preferably with natural bristles.
Step 1
Stand in the shower with the water off.
Step 2
Starting at your feet, start brushing in small circles towards your heart. Apply very light pressure, avoiding broken skin, skin rashes, or areas where the skin is thin, such as the face or inner thighs.
Step 3
After you’ve finished both legs, move on to your arms. Brush from your fingertips, again towards your heart.
Step 4
Reach around and brush from your back towards your stomach.
Step 5
When you are finished, begin showering.
4. Promote Elimination
When toxins that are stored in our cells are mobilized, they travel to our blood and must be eliminated from the body through feces, urine, or sweat or they can be reabsorbed and recirculated in our systems. Sometimes our organs of elimination are sluggish because we don’t move (and therefore don’t sweat), are constipation, or don’t drink enough water. Contact us at Fitness Arts to find ways to increase elimination safely and effectively.
5. Improve Digestion
Promote the growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestines, so that it can keep potentially harmful bacteria in check, otherwise “bad” bacteria can produce toxins that damage the intestinal lining, are absorbed into the bloodstream, and injure cell membranes in the body. The detox diet can often provide the nutrients needed to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria. Probiotics can and should be supplemented. Please call today to get the best probiotics on the market!
Most detox diets call for the removal of foods people are often sensitive to, such as wheat and gluten. A properly chosen diet supports the liver by providing it with protein, antioxidants, vitamin, and other nutrients so that it can detoxify efficiently. Supplements you need for a successful detoxification is available at Fitness Arts.
4. Mind/Body Wellness
Stress can impair the body’s detoxification systems and lead to digestive ailments, impaired immunity, and have wide-ranging effects on health. A detox diet is a time not just to let the body heal, but to allow the mind to rest.
